Issue No. 8
Lucha libre, a Latin dance festival, and a Starship deluge
June 25, 2026 · Weekend of June 26 – 28
Hey 956 👋
We're closing out June with a massive weekend across the Valley. South Padre Island is hosting a four-day Latin dance festival, McAllen brings a live orchestra ballet, Weslaco gets a high-energy Tejano night, and Brownsville is throwing down with a summer bash lucha libre event. Meanwhile, Starbase is soaking wet with back-to-back deluge tests as Flight 13 gets closer. Here's everything worth doing this weekend, June 26–28.
🚀 SpaceX Update — 11 Deluge Tests and Counting
Starship Flight 13 is inching closer as Starbase Pad 2 logs its 11th deluge system test. The water deluge system is critical for suppressing acoustic energy during ignition, and running 11 tests in succession shows SpaceX is actively dialing in performance data. While we don't have an official launch date yet, the cadence of ground testing points to a launch window that isn't far off — likely late July. Grab the free RGV viewing guide so you're ready when it happens.
